Abbey England Business Finalist in North West Family Business Award
Knutsford-based Abbey England is a finalist in two exciting categories for the prestigious North West Family Business Awards 2020.
The team at Abbey England, is well known as manufacturers and distributors of an extensive product range and is a finalist in the Manufacturing & Engineering and Retailers & Wholesale categories of the awards.
Ranges include, in the equestrian sector, high quality English leathers to traditional tools and a wide selection of high quality riding and driving bits.
Products for many other sectors are stocked and produced including accessories and metalwork for everything from fashion to pets, motor and yacht manufacturer.
The team beat strong competition with a record number of 192 businesses entering the awards from across the North West region.
This first-class awards ceremony will be held under the wings of Concorde in the purpose-built hangar and events centre at Manchester Airport with host, food writer, and presenter Nigel Barden in early March.
Said Abbey England CEO, Richard Brown: “We are delighted to be a finalist in two categories at these prestigious awards. Without doubt we truly are a family business and it is wonderful that this special occasion highlights the many hard working teams that are out there supporting each other’s efforts.”
Founder and Co-director, Sue Howorth said: “We were inundated with some incredible entries and we have been burning the midnight oil to get through them as they came in right up to the wire. The judges had extremely difficult decisions to make so the finalists should be extremely proud of themselves!”
Co-director, Dave Clarkson said: "A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to fill out an application form and enter. We’ve been absolutely blown away by the strength and diversity of applications.”
The finalists will now receive a visit from the specially selected panel of expert judges before they make their final decisions. The winners will be announced at the glittering ceremony in March.
