Come along to this year’s Westcountry Equine Fair and see the great three day event rider Alexander Bragg provide two masterclasses on each day helping take riders to the next level in this fantastic discipline.
The event promises to be an action-packed two days with a fabulous line-up of equestrian stars featuring in the indoor arena and incredible shopping opportunities ‘for the horse, for the rider and for Christmas’. It will provide horse enthusiasts of all ages, levels and disciplines with a full schedule of exciting entertainment over the two days and will take place at Westpoint in Exeter on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd December 2017.
Alexander grew up riding ponies that we kept in a small field 5 minutes from home. During his childhood, he enjoyed success in pony club games, horse ball and junior show jumping. He had a break from horses from the age of 16 and pursued a rugby career while he was doing an apprenticeship in farriery. At 21 Alexander qualified with distinction and started his own horse shoeing business. He met his now wife, Simmone, while working and it was her love of eventing that began his interest in the sport.
Team Bragg have established themselves at the top level of eventing with several top 10 placings at 3* and 4* competitions, represented Team GB in Nations Cups and have been long listed for the Europeans Championships.
Team Bragg once again features in the top 25 list of International event riders.
In addition, the show will feature Grant Bazin – The Horseman, who will show his excellent training techniques with his colleague Dan Wilson and Gamegoer (Sunday) will entertain the crowds with his fantastic gundog training demonstrations, plus a heavy horse display and a breed parade (Saturday).
The Westcountry Equine Fair has become well-known for the exciting competitive events and this year will be no exception. The show will see the return of the pony club horse & hound show jumping challenge (sponsored by Horsehage and Stags) and the Junior show jumping competition (sponsored by Red Post Equestrian). There will also be the new Quadrille Competition (Unaffiliated), which will see 6 teams provide wonderfully colourful routines to music.
In addition to the unrivalled entertainment, the show also features a Breed village with a heavy horse section (sponsored by Fennington Fibres); a dedicated shopping village with over 200 companies offering helpful advice and great show offers on 1000’s of products for horse and rider including many big name brands. Also look out for the BETA Equestrian Knowledge Zone offering great advice from a number of experts and Henry, the mechanical horse!
This year, the shows chosen charity for the Westcountry Equine Fair is Devon Air Ambulance.
This is certainly the total equestrian experience for the dedicated rider!
