As well as competing, dressage rider and Cyden Stallions owner Lara Dyson has a passion for breeding and is hoping to produce some quality homebred dressage horses by her wonderful stallions.
Much to Lara’s delight, stallion Cyden Cadans M who is by the popular dressage stallion Sir Donnerhall, has already sired two beautiful fillies, both born last summer.
Cyden Cleo
Cyden Cleo was born in May last year and is out of Cyden Parell, a KWPN chestnut mare by Habicht Trak. Lara describes Parell as being an excellent mother and not at all what most people think of in a chestneut mare.
Dark brown in colour with impressive looks and already showing outstanding front legs, it is hoped that Cleo will make 17hh.
Cyden Channel
Cyden Channel was born last June and is out of DHI Finestra, a German Warmblood owned by Jo Graham Wright, the wife of the late and well respected horseman Andrew Graham of DHI Performance Horses.
It is hoped that Channel will make 16.2hh; she is bay in colour and displays a striking head and fabulous front legs.
Channel will happily stand and be groomed in the field without the need for a headcollar, thanks to her easy going nature.
Both Cyden Cleo and Cyden Channel are already demonstrating amazing temperaments and love attention, always looking for a scratch when they are visited in the field.
At the moment Lara is concentrating on ground work with the fillies, with both being incredibly well handled from a young age, which will hopefully provide them with solid foundations from which to further their education.
Looking to the future Lara is hoping to produce Cleo and Channel to compete in four-year-old classes with the view to eventually selling them to new homes to continue their dressage careers.
All three Cyden stallions, Cyden Cadans M, Cyden Bodyguard Moorland and Cyden Oostings Amigo will be standing at Stallion AI Services for a limited time this April and May. After this, frozen semen will be available.
