British Dressage and Horse & Country announce wide-ranging partnership
British Dressage (BD), the National Governing Body for the sport of dressage in Great Britain, and leading international equestrian sports network Horse & Country (H&C), today announced the details of a wide-ranging partnership. The new arrangement covers key areas, including production, distribution, broadcast and streaming rights, and extensive marketing cross-promotion.
This initiative will see a significant increase in dressage coverage on H&C’s streaming service, H&C+, and reflects both parties’ commitment to increasing the reach and awareness of British Dressage both at home in the UK and in key international markets.
Video production and curation is at the heart of the partnership with the creation of the British Dressage Channel on H&C’s streaming service, H&C+. The channel will be the focal point for all H&C’s live and on-demand coverage of BD sport. In addition, it will host extensive dressage-related content, including masterclasses, training insights, interviews, features and profiles with top riders and coaches. The entire collection of programmes that H&C has produced with Olympians Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin over the years will also be included on the channel.
Between now and the end of July, H&C+ members can enjoy coverage of the following BD events:
- NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships
- BD Premier League – Keysoe
- BD Premier League - Hickstead
- I.C.E. Horseboxes All England Dressage Festival
- BD Premier League – Somerford Park
- BD Premier League – Wellington Riding
- Wellington International Festival of Dressage
- BD Premier League – Vale View Equestrian
- Dressage at Bolesworth
- BD Youth Inter Regional Finals
- BD Premier League – Hartpury
- NAF Five Star Hartpury International Festival of Dressage
- British Dressage Area Festival – Wellington
On behalf of H&C, CEO Heather Killen commented, “We’ve had a long and fruitful relationship with BD and we’re delighted to take it to the next level with this announcement. We know that many of our members are not only fans of the sport, but competitors in their own right. This partnership means we can serve them with more of the coverage they love than ever before.”
For BD, CEO Jason Brautigam commented, “We were all set to launch the BD media channel two years ago when the pandemic struck, so I am delighted that we have finally been able to bring this to fruition. H&C have provided the coverage for our dressage competition and training events for many years, and this is the ideal way to extend that partnership further.
“Most importantly, it will provide a dedicated channel for all dressage enthusiasts and supporters, incorporating an extensive back catalogue of dressage content, as well as brand new programmes and features that will be added over coming months. We’re very excited to launch this initiative with the return of our NAF Five Star Winter Championships at Hartpury over the Easter weekend.”
To watch all H&C’s dressage live streams and access the BD Channel, make sure you are signed up to H&C+. Membership is only £5.99 per month. And, with so much sport coming up, it’s a good time to consider annual membership for just £59.99, with BD members receiving a further 15% discount on the yearly subscription price. So BD members can enjoy 12 months of extensive dressage coverage for just £50.99. Members can watch online or with H&C’s mobile apps, as well as on Roku, Apple TV, Android TV, and Amazon Fire.
