It may still be three months away but planning is already underway to make Hartpury’s Summer Fair even bigger and better this year.

Last year’s event was a sizzling success as the sun shone on thousands of visitors who enjoyed a host of activities, from zorbing, rock climbing and archery to clay pigeon shooting, circus skills and a bungee run.

This year’s Summer Fair, on Saturday, June 4th, will see more of the same and we are making a limited number of spaces available for new exhibitors. We’re particularly looking for producers of local food, drinks and crafts to give our visitors even more to feast on as they enjoy an unmissable day out.

There will again be free entry for everyone as we celebrate of all that’s good about Gloucestershire. Dog owners will get the chance to enter our family dog show and have a go at the dog agility course, while the action-packed outdoor area programme is likely to feature vintage tractors, show jumping and tent pegging. The indoor arena programme will keep equestrian eventing fans entertained.

Visitors will also be able to get up close and personal with lots of furry and not so furry animals and enjoy a whole range of sporting activities, plus a barbecue and ice cream vans of course!

Hartpury Principal, Russell Marchant, said: “It was fantastic to welcome so many local people into the college as the sun shone on last year’s summer fair. It may still be a few months away but we’re excited about the prospect of making the event an even bigger success this year.

“As well as making sure it continues to be really interactive for visitors, we’re keen to give the summer fair even more of a ‘country show’ feel and we’d like to encourage new potential exhibitors to come forward with their ideas for what they can offer, particularly if you’re a business passionate about local produce.

“With thousands of people on campus, it’s a great opportunity to be part of something really special. It’s guaranteed to be a fantastic day out.”

The gates are likely to open at 11.30am on Saturday, June 4th with the full arena programme kicking off at noon.  The show closes at 4pm.

If you are interested in having a stand at the summer fair, please e-mail marketing@hartpury.ac.uk with the details of your business and we will contact you with further information.
