Nurse launches nationwide equestrian business during lockdown to raise money for the NHS.
Equestrian Giveaways was scheduled to launch in August 2020 but Beatrice Vaughan and her partner Ben Hodson decided to bring the launch date forward and refocus the business entirely on raising funds for the NHS Charities Together Campaign.
Beatrice, a nurse at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and life-long equestrian, insisted Ben, a start-up advisor, sales consultant and long-suffering horse husband, worked tirelessly to launch Equestrian Giveaways in just under a month.
“We had planned on building the website, approaching well known equestrian brands and product partners and launching just before our wedding in September of this year however all our plans went out the window when lockdown was imposed.” Ben says: “The wedding has been postponed for another year and the business has launched almost 5 months early! I had planned on Equestrian Giveaways being a commercial venture to recoup some of the money that gets spent on our horses however Beatrice was adamant that we launch quickly and donate everything to the NHS. So that’s what we’ve done.”
Beatrice and Ben are eager for fellow horse lovers and equestrian enthusiasts to get behind the venture to help raise much needed funds for the NHS. “We always planned on donating some of our profits to equestrian charities, I follow lots on Facebook and donate regularly but for this month at least, the NHS will get everything we can raise.” Beatrice says: “I can’t believe we managed to get everything done in such a short space of time, the brands have been amazing, they really have, many of them donating their top of the line products so a huge thankyou to them.”
