Lara Dyson and her KWPN-approved stallion Cyden Bodyguard Moorland managed to shine in the rain to win their first ever Prix St Georges at the Sheepgate Tack and Togs Championships.

The awful conditions didn’t knock them off their stride, emerging victorious on an impressive score of 72.24 percent, making it a special day for Lara as it was also her birthday.

The Lincolnshire based pair rode a personal best in the Intermediate 1 with a score of 65.66%, on the first day of competition to get them on their way.

Going into the second day of the championships Lara and Bodyguard were full of confidence once again taking the Prix St Georges and the Intermediate 1 on scores of 65.42% and 64.61%, respectively.

This was particularly rewarding for Lara after the recent disappointment of not qualifying Bodyguard for the Winter Regional Championships when rider error affected their score but proves that Bodyguards natural talent will see the pair go far.

Lara said: “What a birthday present, Bodyguard was a total star, coping with awful wind and rain.

“I was also thrilled at the comments of some of the judges who congratulated me on my training of both Bodyguard and Cyden Cadans M, having worked them up the levels from Novice in just two years. These compliments are actually more rewarding than results!”

Cyden Cadans M and Cyden Bodyguard Moorland will be standing at Stallion AI Services from June 17 – July 15, with frozen semen available from Cyden Oostings Amigo.
