FEI European Championships coming to Horse & Country TV
The biggest sporting event in the 2017 equestrian diary is coming to Horse & Country TV.
The FEI European Championships are held every two years, and are key qualifiers for the Olympics and World Equestrian Games. They feature Europe’s very best riders and horses, and provide a thrilling three weeks of world-class sport.
H&C TV is the only channel showing highlights from all the eventing, dressage and showjumping – just a few days after the live action. The programmes will also be available on ‘Catch-Up’ via H&C Play and on Amazon Video.
Fans will be able to follow their favourite riders including showjumpers Michael Whitaker and Bertram Allen, dressage legend Carl Hester and event riders Tina Cook and Gemma Tattersall – who was recently named the British Open Champion at The Festival of British Eventing, Gatcombe.
As well as the team events, there are individual titles to compete for. In 2015 the Netherlands’ Jeroen Dubbeldam claimed showjumping gold; Germany’s Michael Jung won the eventing; and Britain’s Charlotte Dujardin topped the dressage, for the second time. The Olympic, World and European Champion, Charlotte Dujardin is not competing this year, which leaves the competition wide open.
The 2017 Europeans have two spectacular venues: the jumping and dressage take place in the heart of the city of Gothenburg in Sweden, while the eventing is being held in Strzegom, Poland.
Equestrian enthusiasts can catch all the action on H&C TV, starting with the eventing, which is the ultimate challenge featuring dressage, showjumping and cross-country. Here’s what to watch and when:
- Eventing – Saturday 26 August at 9pm
- Team dressage – Sunday 27 August at 9pm
- Team jumping – Tuesday 29 August at 9pm
- Dressage Grand Prix Special – Wednesday 30 August at 9pm
- Dressage Freestyle – Thursday 31 August at 9pm
- Individual jumping – Friday 1 September at 9pm
- FEI Europeans Round-Up – Monday 4 September at 8.30pm
In addition to these highlight shows, Horse & Country TV will have a film crew in Gothenburg to capture backstage action and exclusive interviews. All the video content generated from this activity will be available to watch for free on the H&C website and social media platforms.
H&C TV is now also available on Amazon Video. This is a new service, which allows Prime members in Germany and the UK to subscribe to a great line-up of channels including Discovery Channel and Eurosport Player.
Amazon Video is available via the existing Prime Video app to watch anytime, anywhere through the Amazon Video app on smart TVs, iOs and Android mobile devices, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, and Fire tablets and games consoles and through the web at www.amazon.co.uk/video.
Viewers can subscribe to Amazon Video or H&C Play for just £3.99 per month.
