Best-selling author Felix Francis, above left, will host a very special one-off tour of Newmarket this autumn to mark the launch of his new high-stakes thriller, No Reserve, which is set in the town.
On 5 October, the award-winning writer will lead the way to several places that appear in his latest crime novel from the world of horse-racing, which explores the fascinating thoroughbred bloodstock auctions. The Gallops and the world-famous Tattersalls Sales Ring, top, where the action begins, are among the stops along the way.
On the eve of the tour, 4 October, Felix – who is the younger son of Dick Francis, the crime writer and National Hunt jockey – will give an entertaining talk about this new page-turner, with its trademark resourceful heroes, treacherous villains, pacy prose and compelling action. He will also be available to sign copies of his new book.
Felix co-wrote thrillers with Dick in his father’s later years and continued to publish them under his own name after Dick’s death in 2010. He has sold nearly 1 million copies as a solo writer across all editions to date.
The ‘No Reserve Guided Tour with Felix Francis’ starts at 10am on 5 October, tickets £90 per person, including brunch and a signed complimentary copy of No Reserve. Go to https://booking.discovernewmarket.co.uk/product/no-reserve-guided-tour-with-felix-francis/
