Last month, SMB College Group’s Equine team ran a charity unaffiliated showjumping show in aid of Glebe House, raising £310 for children and adults with learning disabilities!
The show was a huge success, with over 25 rounds ridden during the event. Faye and Sean from Glebe House were on hand to present the rosettes, with winners including new Equine student, Olivia Layton, and her pony, Blue, winning the 70cm, and SMB College Group Student Services team member, Kym Wilson, winning the 80cm class.
Glebe House is an organisation whose mission is to provide quality person-centred services and information for children and adults with learning disabilities and autism and for those that care for them.
Glebe House partnered with Brooksby’s Equestrian team earlier this year to create projects to enhance the Centre and provide their service users with the opportunity to further develop their practical skills. So far, Glebe House have made some fantastic contributions to the Equestrian Centre at Brooksby, making a range of hay net stands and revamping their wooden show jumps! The College is excited to collaborate on even more projects with Glebe House in the future.
SMB College Group’s Brooksby Campus is home to an excellent Equestrian Centre with some truly fantastic facilities for students, including an indoor riding arena and outdoor floodlit arena with British Show Jumping approved jumps. Additionally, students benefit from access to the college’s state-of-the-art Equine Rehabilitation Centre with Activo-Med water treadmill, Maxuss Solarium and more.
