Anders Dahl put in another stand-out performance to add yet another win to his impressive haul on a star-studded Gala Evening at Hartpury’s international Festival of Dressage.
Denmark’s Dahl was last up on Wie-Atlantico de Ymas in the Superflex FEI CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle and snatched the victory with a score of 73.525, finishing ahead of Great Britain’s Hannah Biggs on Weltzin in second on a score of 69.775 while third place went to Ireland’s Roland Tong riding Pompidou on 69.750.
It has been an incredibly successful Festival for Dahl, who has also won the FEI CDI Prix St Georges and the CDI3* Dressage Dulux FEI CDI Intermediate I in the last few days.
In the Baileys Horse Feeds FEI Grand Prix Freestyle, Hayley Waton Greaves took the top two spots, winning on Wg Equus with 67.000 and finishing second on Wg Don Wimero on 62.225. Local rider Stef Eardley was third on Fiano with a score of 58.025.
Daisy Powell won the British Young Rider A Squad final on C No Limit, with Paddy Cush and Lord of the Rings in second and Emma Barnes and Korenbloem Uptimes in third.
The crowds were also treated to a showcase of the best young dressage horse who are set to be stars of the future as the top two from each class in the Shearwater Young Horse Championship were presented by three of the judges – Cara Whitham, Peter Storr and Peter Engel.
Lynne Crowden from The Woodlander Stud in Northamptonshire also led a Sports Horse Stallion Parade.
