easibed equine bedding has reported a thirty four per cent increase in sales over the summer and autumn months compared to the same time last year. And the bedding company, which manufactures the dust free wood fibre bedding from clean white recycled wood, says it is forecasting a continuation in the growth of sales as winter draws nearer and horse owners and riders prepare for the colder months ahead.
Claire Hayward, easibed Sales Manager, said the summer had seen an unprecedented rise in the sales of easibed across the UK. She has attributed this in part to a harsh winter followed by a hot summer which meant more horses were stabled over the summer either for feed purposes because of a lack of fresh grass, and / or to give them a break from the heat.
Claire said a shortage of straw as a result of a poor harvest could also have had an influence on more people trying easibed for the first time and loving it.
“Normally we would expect to see demand for easibed drop over the summer months while horses are out in the fields, but this summer our sales just didn’t stop and in fact increased dramatically which was fantastic,” said Claire.
“We know people are struggling to get hold of straw and other bedding products, so customers are looking for alternatives which they can trust and that will be available throughout the winter.
“Because easibed is a manufactured bedding it obviously doesn’t rely on the weather. Therefore we can increase production to meet demand.
