Horse & Country TV is delighted to announce that it has been nominated for Best Factual Channel in this year’s Broadcast Digital Awards. H&C’s fellow nominees in the category are BBC4, National Geographic and History. The ultimate winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in London on Wednesday July 5th.
The Broadcast Digital Awards celebrate the most creative and innovative digital content in the UK. They recognise the very best digital channels and programmes, as well as second screen content, multiplatform projects and original content produced online. They are open to all channels operating in the UK other than the five terrestrials.
Of the 16 different channels nominated across the four Best Channel categories (Factual, Specialist, Entertainment and Channel of the Year) all but H&C are part of major national or international media groups (BBC, Discovery, Viacom, Scripps etc).
Commenting on the nomination, H&C’s CEO Heather Killen said, “We’ve combined a razor sharp editorial focus with a smart technology stack to super-serve a highly valuable, hard to reach passion group. We’re delighted to see this recognised by Broadcast in this year’s shortlist.”
The news follows hot on the inclusion of H&C in the launch line-up of Amazon Video, the new service accessible to Amazon Prime members, which features the live channel as well as extensive on-demand content.
H&C covers all the top international tournaments in jumping, dressage, eventing, driving and other disciplines, plus national level events such as the Royal Windsor Horse Show, the Hickstead Derby, and the Horse of the Year Show, as well as training and behind the scenes programmes, reality shows and fascinating documentaries.
