On Wednesday 8th July 2020, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced that from August 2020 to January 2021, any employer that hires a new apprentice aged between 16-24 years will receive a payment of £2,000. In addition, employers looking to hire new apprentices aged 25 years and over, will receive £1,500. This will be in addition to the existing £1,000 incentive payment that the government already provides for new apprentices aged between 16-18 years, and where applicable, to those aged under 25 years with an Education Health Care Plan. This can result in an employer potentially receiving up to £3,000 for hiring an apprentice aged between 16-18 years, during this six month incentive scheme.
At WCG (formerly Warwickshire College Group), we offer the widest range of apprenticeship standards across Warwickshire and Worcestershire, allowing us to meet the needs of almost all businesses.
