HAYGAIN, globally recognised for their contribution to improving forage quality and equine health is a supplier to the Organising Committee for Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy, for animal veterinarian services and biosecurity.
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy is the biggest equestrian event ever staged in France and will see riders from more than 70 nations compete in eight official disciplines.
The HAYGAIN team has provided in-depth advice on how to implement the correct protocol before and during the event to ensure exceptional hygiene levels throughout the facilities.
The bio-security procedures that will be implemented are to ensure the cleanest environment possible for these world-class equine athletes and the HAYGAIN team are delighted to have had the opportunity to develop the programme.
All stables will be treated with PROTEK’s EnviroCair Veterinary Disinfectant, with all access points having PROTEK’s EnviroCair Veterinary Disinfecting hand gel stations, together with all vets and farriers being supplied with personal hand gel clip on dispensers.
HAYGAIN Hay Steamers will be positioned in dedicated steaming tents in the stables at each of the five main venues during the event, with a HAYGAIN technician attending to grooms’ forage steaming requirements.
FLEXINEB Nebulisers will be provided for veterinary use by both team vets and resident vets in the clinics at each venue’s stables.
The agreement has also included providing Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy’s stable managers and equine professionals, the bio-security protocols using PROTEK’s EnviroCair Veterinary Disinfectants, how to effectively use and maintain HAYGAIN Hay Steamers, HAYGAIN disinfectant foggers and FLEXINEB Nebulisers through a specifically made video.
Said Brian Fillery of HAYGAIN: “We are delighted to supply this service for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy. The well-being of the horses involved is our top priority, ensuring a disinfected, disease free environment, and clean forage, free from respirable dust during the Games.”
PROTEK’s EnviroCair Veterinary Disinfectant is certified effective against Aspergillus Niger, Rhodoccus Equi, MRSA, Salmonella sp., Streptoccus Equi (strangles) Parvovirus, Lice, and Avian Bird Flu., Ringworm and Equine Herpes.
Once dry it leaves a residual barrier which has been proven to continue to prevent contamination for up to 14 days. This safeguards the facilities ensuring they remain clean for the entire Games despite movement of horses over this period.
HAYGAIN is currently available in three models: the HG-1000, HG-600 and HG-GO. With all the units, spore and bacteria free steamed hay is ready to feed immediately after steaming cycles of about 50 minutes depending on model. Complete nutritional value and goodness are maintained with improved palatability. HAYGAIN have extensive proven research on the unparalleled effectiveness of their unique patented method of introducing steam into the centre of the hay to ensure all the hay is completely treated.
The FLEXINEB Nebuliser is a fast, lightweight and portable equine nebuliser which is silent, simple to use and operates from a rechargeable battery. The advanced technology ensures delivery of nebulised aerosol particles, of which over 70% are under 5 microns in diameter, to the deepest area of the lungs.
Keen to support and give something back to the equestrian industry, HAYGAIN also provide sponsorship to riders, events and charities throughout the year.
