On hearing the tragic news of the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund's major loss due to the theft of their van and stock destined for Burghley Horse Trials, Horse of the Year Show has stepped in to offer the Charity a 'Money Can't Buy Experience' prize at the show with a chance to meet Olympic dressage rider Carl Hester, as part of a prize package donated to help raise funds for the Charity.
The prize which will be auctioned off to raise funds includes 2 x Hospitality tickets for the Thursday evening, three-course meal, table service and a meet and greet with Carl Hester immediately after his rider signing.
Commenting on the prize donation, Rosemary Lang, Administrator and Fund Co-ordinator for the Charity said:
"We always rely heavily on Burghley to raise funds for the following year, so the loss of our stock and the van has had a devastating effect on our small Charity. We cannot thank Horse of the Year Show enough for donating such a fabulous experience and hope it will go some way towards recovering the loss we have incurred to ensure that we can continue to support equestrians in need."
