With the CGI version of The Lion King due out this week, plenty of set-jetters will be looking to book a trip to Tanzania's endless plains, the movie loosely based on the Serengeti. And, claims riding holiday specialist, Ranch Rider, there's no better way to see the national park's wildlife than on horseback.
Tony Daly, Managing Director of Ranch Rider, comments, "Exploring the area of Piyaya, the Serengeti Migration Safari, takes riders across a remote and little-visited part of the national park's ecosystem. Encompassing challenging terrain, the landscape is rugged, the open, sweeping grasslands interspersed with striking granite kopjes, and adjoining the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the eastern corridor of the Serengeti is teeming with magnificent wildlife."
Eight-night Serengeti Migration ride from £6,200pp (no single supplement) including one-night at permanent camp (the night upon arrival), seven-nights under private canvas (tents), meals and drinks, horses tack and guides, government taxes, levies and concession fee, return charter flights to/from the Serengeti from Arusha and also transfers between Arusha and Kilimanjaro Airport. 2020 departures: 25 Jan – 02 Feb, 15 Feb – 23 Feb and 14 March – 22 March. Excludes return flight from £1,200pp. 16 years +. Experienced riders only.
