Lydia Parrott and Pipsqueek T were crowned HAYGAIN Hay Steamer Diamond Champions at the Blue Chip Championships, held at Hartpury Arena, Gloucestershire.
Based in Staffordshire, 18-year-old Lydia, secured first place after a very speedy jump-off with the talented bay.
The HAYGAIN Hay Steamers Diamond Championship was aimed specifically at riders outside the top 200 on the British Showjumping ranking list with the course set at 95cm high.
Said Lydia: "Pipsqueek T is a horse in a million and so much better at this than I am, I’m just a passenger really.”
Spotted as a four-year-old by groom Kate Robertson, the now nine-year-old Gribaldi/Cassis gelding has proved very talented.
As Lydia’s A-levels have taken precedence this year, it was her first show for a month. Lydia is aiming to study as a vet at Nottingham University.
Said Becky James of HAYGAIN: “We were delighted to sponsor this championship, its brilliant to see such a high standard of competitors, and congratulations to Lydia and Pipsqueek T.”
