Leading British equestrian riding surfaces manufacturer Martin Collins Enterprises Ltd is lending their support to those in need - Strength and Learning Through Horses, a small charity with big ambitions.

As official suppliers to the London Longines Global Champions Tour, part of the Fibretrack surface, on which the world’s elite showjumping riders will compete on at London’s Chelsea Royal Hospital will find a new home at their new base in Barnet in North London! The LGCT event is a temporary installation and the Martin Collins team have a serious logistics task ensuring that the surface is brought into the capital and removed afterwards.

The Strength and Learning Through Horses, charity utilises horses to engage young people struggling with mental health issues, behavioural problems and learning difficulties to accept help from a team of experts. The results are life-changing: The charity has a 10-year track record of success in helping young people improve their mental health when traditional methods and educational interventions have failed.

Sadly, Strength and Learning Through Horses is at risk of having to close its doors to young people unless they can Crowdfund enough money to turn their derelict site, found after 5 years of searching, into London’s first dedicated equine therapy stables.

Nicholas Collins, Martin Collins Enterprises Director, commented; We are delighted to be supporting this worthwhile charity, with our surface from London’s GCT providing a legacy, enabling them to build a safe arena for the horses and team to work on”

Rosie Bensley, Strength and Learning Through Horses CEO and Education Lead, says: “At a time when young people are in need of mental health interventions and educational opportunities that work for them more than ever before, it’s vital that this service doesn’t have to close its doors or one of the most innovative and effective ways of improving the lives of marginalised and excluded people in London will be lost. We are so incredibly grateful for the support from Martin Collins in getting us one step closer to a safe usable site for our young people”

Members of the public can donate to the campaign via Crowdfunder:

Fibretrack is a wax free, mix of sand and fibres and is ideal for outdoor arenas providing a safe and secure surface to work on.
