Bolesworth International 2015 is set to be the biggest and best yet! Held at Bolesworth Castle, Chester, June 18 to 21, the event is not to be missed and promises to provide an action packed four days.
The Team
The event is based at Bolesworth Castle and wouldn’t run without the dedication of the Bolesworth International team.
Driving West to meet the team at their beautiful office, set in the picturesque estate, it is very evident everyone is very committed to the show and making it an event like no other.
We caught up with Anna Du Pré and Howard Blythe to find out more about their daily routine and their visions for the future of the event. All the team are hugely passionate about the event and strive for perfection in every way.
What is your role?
Anna Du Pré: Event Co-ordinator for Bolesworth International. My role at Bolesworth is really varied which I thrive on. I am responsible for a range of show aspects, from planning marketing campaigns, working on the entertainment schedule to looking after 1,000 children on our School’s Day.
Howard Blythe: My Event Co-ordinator role involves helping with all aspects of organisation and marketing the event.
What is your career background?
Anna Du Pré: Before starting at Bolesworth almost four years ago I worked for a big advertising and design agency in Leeds. I was a Senior Account Manager there and looked after one of the many Asda Accounts that we had as a business. Prior to that I worked in the Marketing Departments at Morrison’s Head Office and Iceland Frozen Foods. It is fair to say I had worked my way around the supermarkets so coming to work for Bolesworth on an event that I had a real interest in was a great opportunity!
Howard Blythe: I have worked in marketing for around 20 years, plus six years of owning and running a snooker club, of all things!
Do you ride?
Anna Du Pré: I used to. I rode from the age of about six until my late 20s and it is something I would really love to do again at some point in the future. I am really keen to get my little girl interested in riding when she is a little bit older as it would be a lovely hobby for us to do together.
What is your favourite part of the job?
Anna Du Pré: My favourite aspect of the job is seeing months of hard work and planning take shape over the show weekend!
Howard Blythe: Talking with people about our fantastic venue, it’s not a hard sell.
Why do you feel so passionately about Bolesworth International?
Anna Du Pré: It is great to be part of something that is growing and developing so well. The show has a great reputation and Nina Barbour’s vision for the future of the show is very exciting.
Howard Blythe: The show has a fantastic atmosphere and is really great fun to work on.
What is your favourite part of Bolesworth International?
Anna Du Pré: There are so many aspects of the show that I really enjoy. From the moment that the gates open to the General Public, meeting and working with some great people, the daily attractions, the concert and of course not forgetting the camel races.
Howard Blythe: Meeting all sorts of people throughout the show, there are people from all walks of life all looking to enjoy a great day out.
Why is Bolesworth International different from other shows?
Anna Du Pré & Howard Blythe agree: The setting of Bolesworth International has to make this event stand apart from others.
Who is a Bolesworth International visitor?
Anna Du Pré: Anyone! Anyone can come to Bolesworth International and have a great day out! There really is something for everyone from World Class Sport to Zorbing on the lake, fabulous shopping and lots to eat and drink. Who wouldn’t enjoy at day out at Bolesworth?
Howard Blythe: People who love horses and people who enjoy a great day out in Cheshire.
Where would you like Bolesworth International to be in five years?
Anna Du Pré: Making Bolesworth International 5* and one of the top 20 shows in the world.
Howard Blythe: Up there on the world stage!
