Michaela Huntington and Drumhowan Cavalier were crowned HAYGAIN Hay Steamer Diamond Champions at the prestigious Blue Chip Championships, held at Hartpury Arena, Gloucestershire.

Based in Finchingfield, Essex, 29-year-old Michaela, secured first place, after a very speedy jump-off with the talented coloured.

Now 16-years-old Drumhowan Cavalier was odds on favourite after winning the first two rounds of these exciting finals.

The HAYGAIN Hay Steamers Diamond Championship is aimed specifically at riders outside the top 200 on the British Showjumping ranking list with the course set at 95cm high.

Said Michaela: “It was wonderful to win the HAYGAIN Hay Steamers final. The class suited him so well as he is a very consistent, careful and talented horse who loves his job. The Blue Chip championship is a brilliant show, I’ve been every year since I was 12 so we are massive supporters.

“Drumhowan Cavalier is a fantastic horse, he is owned Andrea Pearman of The Jays Stud  and we have so much fun together it really is a great partnership that works and these classes are great fun to compete in as well.”
