On a cloudy Sunday at the end of May, Derriere Equestrian hosted it’s annual search for the next face of their global specialist clothing brand.
Claire Galer, MD and founder of Derriere Equestrian has created a worldwide name for her brand that is now available in over 109 retailers across 29 countries. Her skills in identifying and developing a niche market have provided the route to bringing horse riders the very best in technology, comfort and style!
Derriere offer a range of underwear including padded and non-padded briefs for men and women, jodhpurs and they will soon offer much anticipated sports bra offering support and comfort to ladies of all sizes. The garments are developed and manufactured in Italy and Tunisia and use specialist materials to ensure the wearer has maximum comfort in their Derriere experience.
The Annual Derriere of the year competition – DOTY is the chance for riders to become the face of the Derriere Equestrian brand. The DOTY 2015 winner Laura-Eve Thyer was on hand during the proceedings and explained what it means to be DOTY and what the Derriere judges are looking out for
“It means a lot to all the models as it is a incredible opportunity to be the face of Derriere for 2016, working with the fabulous team on photoshoots and launching new products. It will be an exciting year for the winner!! We are looking not only for a great Derriere! We are looking for a beautiful, sporty model with confidence and passion for the brand. They need to be able to work with the other models, photographer and the Derriere team to create the perfect images!”
Mitch and Gabriella faced strong competition and were both delighted to be crowned winners! Gabriella, no stranger to the limelight had just the previous evening been crowned Miss Sportswoman Dorset was nevertheless, over the moon
“I could never have dreamed I would be representing such a fantastic equestrian company whilst achieving my own dreams of becoming a model all at once ! When my mum (also a rider ) purchased her pair of padded underwear some months ago I didn't hear the end of her "comfortable enjoyable ride " she now has , I just knew I had to apply to be doty2016! I can't wait for the future with the amazing derrière team.”
Mitch has since been signed to top London model agency Models Plus Ltd from where he hopes to launch his modelling career

Claire Galer was overwhelmed by the number of entrants this year and she had these words to say to Mitch and Gabriella.
“The hugest of congratulations to Gabriella and Mitch becoming crowned as DOTY Winners 2016, as the competition was so strong. To be working with you both as the faces of our brand through the coming year will be fabulous and we are just delighted to be working with you both.“
