In September 2020 we started our annual cycle of Degree Open Eventsand ran a couple of on campus events until lockdown when we moved to online events.  Now we have confirmation of the government guidance around the relaxing of lockdown restrictions, we’re delighted to announce that our next in-person Degree Open Event is planned for Saturday 19 June from 10am to 2pm.

This will give any students thinking about studying a degree with us, the chance to speak to our Subject Leaders and see our outstanding facilities. The event is completely free but ticketed for safety, as we plan to still have number restrictions in place. Book your tickets today!

On Thursday 20 May, we are also offering college tours at Moreton Morrell. These tours offer students a walking tour of the campus and whilst they are not subject-specific or led by Subject Leaders, it will give you the opportunity to get a feel for our beautiful countryside campus and the facilities. You can book your place here.

In the meantime, hear from our animal, equine and veterinary Subject Leaders in our latest film showcasing our range of land-based courses and facilities at Moreton Morrell College.

Moreton Morrell College  - Student Success Stories

We always like to keep in touch with our previous students and celebrate their successes and although it’s been a challenging year, it’s really wonderful to see two students doing just that, with their own businesses.

Students from WCG moreton morrell college

Sian Phipps, gained a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Equitation Coaching Sports Science and at only 26 runs her own business as an equestrian confidence coach. Sian told us “I started my coaching business during my last year at Moreton Morrell College, since then it has grown into a nationwide company. My mission as the Equestrian Confidence Coach is to enable all riders to achieve their riding goals as confidence in both the horse and rider is built on progressive training. I would highly recommend Moreton Morrell College - not only is the teaching and support excellent, you are also part of a wonderful riding community that I’m still in touch with today!”

Rosa Dakin is another Moreton Morrell College student who has gone on to great things! Rosa got a first-class BSc (Hons) in Equine and Human Sports Science and is now a Sport Scientist at the University of Birmingham. She provides physiological support to national and international level scholarship athletes. But Rosa hasn’t forgotten her passion for equine and has recently launched a new sport science service to equestrian athletes. Rosa told us “Studying at Moreton Morrell gave me an opportunity to understand the physiological principles of both horses and riders. It taught me that riders are as much athletes as their horses and showed me there was a need for scientific research within the equestrian sector.”

If you would like to progress with a career in the equine industry, why not consider a degree-level course with us. We offer a range of courses from distance learning, to integrated foundation degrees, to Honours degrees. Come along to one of our open events or visit our website for more information and to apply for September 2021.
