The highest scoring student from each cohort of Neue Schule’s Academy course, The Fundamentals of Bits and Bitting, will be presented with lorinery awards at the Livery Reception hosted by The Worshipful Company of Loriners. The event will take place at The Guild Hall, London on the 22nd June 2016.
Master Loriner, John Punch, will present Academy students Dawn Wagstaff, Miranda Jupp, Jeanine Jansen and Jose Casado with The Loriners' Award medals in acknowledgment of their excellence.
The evening will also see Dr. Graham Cross, Director of Studies at Neue Schule, provide an introduction to The Academy and the ongoing research that Neue Schule is continuously committed to.
Dr. Cross said “It’s wonderful to have four of our top students recognised by The Worshipful Company of Loriners.” He added “The knowledge that the students have gained through The Academy equips them with a much deeper insight into bitting horses which in turn will serve to improve horse welfare."
Tricia Nassau-Williams, the Lorinery Lecturer and Project Manager for The Worshipful Company of Loriners told us “The Worshipful Company of Loriners are pleased to be presenting The Loriners' Award to the highest placed student from each section of the Neue Schule lorinery [Fundamentals of Bits and Bitting] course.” She continued “These awards recognise the high level of achievement and study commitment made by each of the winning candidates. Good equestrianism will always rely upon the
skill of the rider and this will inevitably be increased by a sound understanding of the tools of our trade."
