It may not be on your mind every day, but the British Equestrian Federation places high priority on safeguarding and expects all staff and volunteers providing riding or horse management opportunities to have an up-to-date safeguarding training certificate. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
In previous years, safeguarding training was a source of great frustration for many equestrians who were having to take valuable time out of work to attend face-to-face courses, or who were struggling to put the information included in generic training courses into the context of their equestrian workplace.
Fortunately, the safeguarding experts at the Child Protection Company recognised the unique training needs of equestrians and, in association with the British Equestrian Federation, they have worked to develop a bespoke safeguarding training alternative specifically for equestrians that will save you both time and money.
Three brand new online equestrian safeguarding courses are now available from the Child Protection Company. With prices starting at just £23.25 plus VAT per course and bulk purchase discounts available, they offer excellent value for money and cover all of the essential safeguarding knowledge required by the British Equestrian Federation for your work or volunteer role.
The three brand new online equestrian safeguarding courses are:
Equestrian Basic Safeguarding Awareness
This course has been created for anyone who works or volunteers in the equestrian world, and gives a basic introduction to child and adult protection procedures, including legislation, signs and indicators of abuse, and how to report concerns.
Equestrian Advanced Safeguarding
This is an advanced online safeguarding course created specifically for Riding Instructors, Coaches, and any other equestrian professional who has already completed a British Equestrian Federation face-to-face safeguarding course and wishes to refresh their knowledge. It covers both adult and child safeguarding, including topics such as being person-centred, making referrals, and handling allegations.
Equestrian Advanced Safeguarding for Safeguarding Officers
This course has been created specifically for equestrian Safeguarding Officers/Welfare Officers and is designed for use as refresher training for anyone who has already taken a British Equestrian Federation face-to-face safeguarding course. The course covers both adult and child safeguarding, including topics such as safeguarding law, working with agencies, handling complaints and allegations, and the role of Safeguarding Officer.
The training can be completed entirely online from any device or phone with internet access, and each course takes around 1 to 2 hours to complete. They are fully developed to meet the needs of equestrians, with equestrian-specific case studies, scenarios, and resources suitable for your working environment. Download a verifiable safeguarding certificate immediately on successful completion, and use the intuitive online management system to schedule automatic reminders so that organisations can keep track of all staff training, alongside other handy features.
Please keep in mind that it is a requirement for professionals to have attended a British Equestrian Federation face-to-face safeguarding course within the 3 years prior to taking one of these online courses as refresher training.
