A state-of-the-art device to keep people safe in the workplace – and equestrian retail stores – has been launched. Intelligent Sport Technologies (IST), formed by bitting specialist Neue Schule and equestrian performance products manufacturer Stride Innovations, has developed the Taicer Alert, which is designed to support effective social distancing and deliver confidence as coronavirus lockdown measures are relaxed.
It is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of the equestrian industry, including those working in warehouses and manufacturing, delegates attending conferences and exhibitions, and both staff and customers in retail stores.
Small, discreet and simple to use, the Taicer Alert harnesses the power of Bluetooth technology to activate a gentle buzz or flashing LED when people have breached a two-metre space around one another, reminding them to step back and maintain a safe distance.
Wearing the hi-tech alert, with its proximity detection ability, helps people to feel more secure as they leave the safety of home to return to work and supports businesses that have a duty of care to their staff. Accompanying Taicer software allows managers and event organisers to identify and address hot spots within a building or high levels of contact at specific times of day.
The Taicer Alert can be fixed to a lanyard or hard hat and, after extensive and robust testing, is ready to be rolled out into the equestrian business sector.
“We are incredibly excited about this brand-new technology and its ability to play such an important role in helping to keep people as safe as possible as they move out of lockdown and back into a changed world where we are all called to remain vigilant against coronavirus,” said IST CEO Sarfraz Mian, who is also CEO of the Neue Schule Group – a famous name in the equestrian world, with a fine reputation for research and technology.
“The way people have pulled together in these extremely challenging times has been truly inspiring and we feel privileged to be in a position where we have been able to capitalise on our extensive knowledge and technological experience to deliver the benefits of the Taicer Alert system to support people in a broad range of workplaces.”
Arpan Bhatia, IST technical director and managing director of Stride Innovations, added: “We believe this cutting-edge technology will equip organisations around the world with a highly effective means of adhering to social distancing guidelines, as well as ensuring that management has the right tool to govern and audit contact incidents as they arise.”
IST, based in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, is a developer of hardware and platform-accessed devices, specialising in engineering cloud technologies and solutions. Further information on the Taicer Alert device can be found at www.taicer.com and a video demonstrating it below
