An exciting new eventing initiative - The Sue Carson Saddles North Yorkshire Challenge - will run across three events this season, with plans to build it in future years.
Taking place at BE80, 90 and 100 levels, riders will earn points at Skipton 1 on July 2 and 3, Aske on July 9 and 19, and Skipton 2 on August 6 and 7 for placings, completions and double clears.
The challenge is aimed at encouraging grass roots riders to compete at the three events and to really gain momentum throughout the summer season.
Supported by Sue Carson Saddles the series winners will receive a host of prizes including Sue Carson Saddles branded rugs, cash prizes to the top three in each section across the series and rosettes.
Said Sue: “We really want the series to grow in the future and for riders to be able to look forward to a prestigious mounted prize-giving they will really remember.
“Our plans include interviewing competitors in the arena and making it a special occasion riders are proud to be a part of as they canter round the ring and celebrate their achievements.”
Points will be awarded with the Top 10 receiving points with 1st allocated 20 down to 10th receiving 10 points.
All completions outside the top 10 will also earn five points, while double clears get an extra points 10 points.
Said Stuart Buntine of BEDE Events, organiser of Aske: “We really hope this three event challenge will encourage grass roots rider to enter and get behind the series
“All those competitors finishing with a double clear are really in the running for some fantastic prizes.”
The awards will be presented at Skipton 2 with the winner of each section receiving £200, second place taking home £150, third finisher £100 and finally fourth £50.
