UK designer and producer of equestrian products, Griffin NuuMed, is delighted to announce its sponsorship of International Grade Two Para Dressage Rider Suzanna Hext.
Suzanna is based in Gloucestershire and previously evented up to international two star level before an accident while breaking a young horse left her with a broken back, pelvis and shoulder as well as partially damaged vision and substantial nerve damage. During Suzanna’s months of recovery in and out of hospital, her drive to ride again kept her going. Suzanna rode for the first time following her accident in July 2014 at Lakefield RDA centre in Camelford. Today, Suzanna trains with Pammy, Abi and Charlie Hutton at Talland School of Equitation and competes Pammy and Charlie Hutton’s Abira in para competitions, and Pammy and Lucile Webb-Peploe’s Amo in para and able-bodied competitions.
“Suzanna’s determination to ride again following her accident and her wonderfully upbeat view on life is quite inspirational,” says Rosie Pocock, Managing Director of Griffin NuuMed. “I am very pleased we can play a part in her future plans to ride at the very highest level.”
“The sponsorship from NuuMed means a huge amount to me and will help with my Paralympic ambitions,” says Suzanna. “I’ve ridden with NuuMed numnahs since I was 13 years old, when I was competitng in the FEI Eventing British Pony Trials, so I know and trust the products. Not only do the horses look the part, but they are comfortable during exercise and competition too.”
Suzanna’s favourite product is the HiWither Half Wool Dressage Saddlepad that combines half wool lining for added protection over key pressure points with quilting to allow close leg contact.
