This popular event takes place in the beautiful Cheshire countryside from 19th - 21st August and is all set to be a incredible weekend of top sporting action with many of last year’s winners returning to defend their titles.
They include New Zealand riders Mark Todd and James Avery, British rider’s Nicola Wilson and Harry Meade, while Irish rider Aoife Clark will also be among the line up bidding to claim back their titles from last year.
An action packed couple of weeks of equestrian sport is set to kick off at Rio 2016 this week, and Somerford are thrilled that British Team member Gemma Tattersall, New Zealand’s virtuoso Mark Todd and China’s anchor man Alex Hua Tian will be flying back from Brazil in time to make a welcome appearance at this popular Cheshire event.
Strong entries from both British and British based riders include Jeannette Brakewell, Ben Hobday, Izzy Taylor, Oliver Townend, Brazilian Carlos Parro and New Zealand’s Tim and Jonelle Price.
An impressive contingent of local Cheshire riders will also be competing across the weekend among them will be Andrew Downes, Sam Ecroyd, Robyn Gray, Yasmin Ingham, Michael Owen, French rider Arthur Duffort as well Somerford Park based riders Andrew Heffernan and Sally James.
A dual role for Orthteam, as well as being long term sponsors of Somerford Park locally based eventer Sonya Ravenscroft will also be competing.
