Pegasus Jewellery is delighted to unveil the Purple Poppy Pin, to commemorate service animals lost in conflict and funds for the Racehorse Sanctuary
Leading equestrian jeweller Pegasus was founded on a twin love of everything to do with horses and designing beautiful jewellery, so it’s no surprise that the brand has decided to support a horsey charity with its latest product launch. The Purple Poppy Pin is a stunning lapel pin designed in collaboration with talented Scottish artist Val Macadam and reflects the idea of wearing a purple poppy during remembrance time to show respect for the animals who lost their lives during man-made conflicts around the world. Many people choose to wear a purple poppy alongside the traditional red poppy in memory of the soldiers who lost their lives in conflicts past.
The Purple Poppy Pin (£10.00) is crafted from beautiful purple glitter enamel and measures 2cm by 1.5cm, making it the perfect pin to wear on your coat throughout autumn or add to a dress for special occasions. Buying a Purple Poppy Pin will not only signify respect for animals lost in conflict, it will also help to support a UK-based equestrian charity helping horses in need of a helping hand today. Pegasus have announced that £5.00 from the sale of every single Purple Poppy Pin will go directly to the Racehorse Sanctuary to help them continue their important work with ex racehorses.
Approximately 7000 horses leave the UK racing industry every year and where some are lucky to be found good homes straight away, others are left with an uncertain future. The Racehorse Sanctuary is a registered charity that was set up in 2005 by Graham Oldfield and Sue Collins and is based in the tranquil West Sussex countryside. The charity is funded solely by donations from the general public and money raised from fundraising events to help them retrain and rehome racehorses. The charity also runs the Peter O’Sullevan High Dependency Unit for the small percentage of horses who can never be rehomed, giving them a secure and safe home for life.
