The Price Family shows their support to Horse of the Year Show for the fifth year
The Price Family will return to Horse of the Year Show as class sponsors for the fifth consecutive year in 2020, supporting the Mini Show Pony of the Year classes and Championship:
- The Price Family Lead Rein Pony of the Year
- The Price Family First Ridden Pony of the Year
- The Price Family Mini Show Pony of the Year Championship
The Price Family Lead Rein Pony of the Year gives children under the age of eight the opportunity to ride in a competitive environment, while The Price Family First Ridden Pony of the Year gives riders under the age of 10 their first chance at riding in the TopSpec Arena by themselves. First and second place from each then go forward to compete in The Price Family Mini Show Pony of the Year Championship.
Most recently, The Price Family Mini Show Pony of the Year Championship saw Barkway Mr McGregor and Georgina Storey crowned overall winner at the show in 2019.
The Price Family themselves are no stranger to the show ring, with daughter Phoebe securing qualifying places at Horse of the Year Show for the last six years. In 2016, HOYS saw one of Phoebe’s showing highlights as she rode Litton Enterprise to victory in the Children’s Riding Pony of the Year Championship and then went on to be crowned Ruckleigh School Supreme Pony of the Year.
Darren Price comments: “Horse of the Year Show is a very special occasion for the Price Family and we have been lucky enough to have some amazing experiences as competitors over the years. We really want to continue to endorse HOYS, and specifically the Mini Show Pony of the Year Championship, to support and encourage the development of our young jockeys and encourage them to continue in our great sport.”
Horse of the Year Show Event Director, Emma Williams, commented: “On behalf of Horse of the Year Show, we are delighted to welcome the Price Family back for another year as class sponsors. To have the support of families and individuals within the showing community is greatly appreciated and allows us to continue to promote the sport to younger generations.”
Horse of the Year Show takes place from 7th-11th October 2020 at the Resorts World Arena, the NEC Birmingham bringing another year of breath-taking displays and unbeatable competition.
