Kicking 2019 off to a flying start, Grandstand Media Ltd are delighted to announce an exciting new sponsorship confirmed for the Puissance at HOYS 2019! Ripon Select Foods and the Wood Family are thrilled to be taking on the sponsorship of the iconic Saturday evening showjumping class, which sees top riders display their precision, skill and bravery as they tackle the wall, reaching heights in excess of 7ft. The Puissance for many is the highlight of the five-day show and was one of the original nine showjumping classes at the very first Horse of the Year Show in 1949. Now 70 years on and the class is still pulling in bumper crowds year on year, seeing many top names take on the wall!

Martin Wood, Director of Ripon Select Foods, commented: “As a family we compete in many horse classes from showing to showjumping and our sponsorship is a way of putting something back into the sport we love. As a business it’s a great way to get the company name out there and having personally seen the reaction of competitors when winning or even just competing at HOYS, which is one of the greatest horse shows in the world, is quite simply amazing.”
Event Director Emma Williams commented: “It is always an honour to welcome a new sponsorship agreement for the show and having worked with the Wood Family and Ripon Select Foods for many years already through their support of the Supreme Horse Championship and the Children’s Riding Pony of the Year, I am delighted to see them step across to support one of the most popular showjumping classes we host at Horse of the Year Show. I look forward to continuing our partnership with them for 2019.”
Horse of the Year Show takes place this year from 2nd – 6th October 2019 at the Resorts World Arena, the NEC Birmingham for another year of breathtaking displays and unbeatable competition. Tickets and a full timetable of events will be released in February.
