Horse & Country to live stream all seven days of the rescheduled British Dressage Winter Championships
After a four-month delay due to lockdown, the NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships will go ahead between 17th and 23rd August at Hartpury College. Whilst the event may be taking place behind closed doors, due to COVID restrictions, dressage fans won’t miss a minute of the action as Horse & Country (H&C) will be streaming live from both arenas across all seven days of competition. And there’s more good news; the entire Championships will be completely free to view exclusively on H&C’s streaming service, H&C+.
The news follows on from the recent highly successful live stream from Barbury Horse Trials on H&C+ as eventing started up again after lockdown.
Commenting on the latest agreement with British Dressage, Jonathan Rippon, Director of Content for H&C, said, “Lockdown may have put our live streaming plans on hold for a while but, as the calendar comes back to life, we’ll be bringing more and more live events to the passionate audience for horse sport. We’re delighted to be able to offer the Winter Championships free to view, not least because, as H&C+ is a global service, it’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the best of British dressage to a worldwide audience.”
British Dressage Chief Executive, Jason Brautigam added, “After losing three months of competition we’re delighted to partner with H&C to bring the NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships to the widest possible audience. While many of our members will be disappointed that they are unable to attend on site, the fact this is free to view will ensure that everyone can still enjoy the return of national competition. We know there’s a real appetite for more live coverage of our sport and we’re looking forward to announcing other exciting projects and new initiatives with H&C in the near future.”
The live stream will be hosted in the live events section at horseandcountry.tv and in the H&C apps. And, for H&C+ members, all of the action from each day of competition will be available to watch on-demand the following day. So if you’re not able to watch live, or you want to re-watch your own or a friend’s test, H&C+ membership is just £5.99 a month, with no contract required.
In further good news for dressage fans, H&C+ members can now watch our latest masterclass featuring Olympic gold medallist Laura Tomlinson and titled “Straightness and Centre Lines”. Working with 10 year old Finn (Falltijn van Kairos) and 13 year old Cas (Duval’s Kapri Sonne Jr) Laura focuses on the exercises she uses to improve straightness and ensure that the all-important first impression the judge gets as you come down the centre line is the best it can be.
“Straightness and Centre Lines” is on H&C+ now, along with hundreds more hours of training and learning, sport, documentaries and entertainment.
