Leading horsebox and trailer manufacturer, Equi-Trek, asked people to nominate their favourite charity on social media for a visit from Santa-Trek this Christmas.
With more than 500 nominations for 50 different charities, Equi-Trek came up with a shortlist and then picked the winning charity at random. Hope Pastures at Leeds was the lucky winner and the Santa-Trek Equinox horsebox paid them a visit.
Terravesta Equine, Likit, British Horse Feeds, John Whitaker International, Stable Shield, The Golden Paste Company and Robinson Animal Health Care donated gifts to fill the Santa-Trek horsebox and helped Hope Pastures to end the year on a high, while Equi-Trek also made a £500 cash donation to the charity.
Hope Pastures, like the majority of charities, has suffered a devastating loss of income this year as fundraising activities were halted due to the pandemic. With 26 horses, ponies and donkeys currently on site, the costs of caring for these equines have continued to mount up leaving the charity desperate for support.
Said Sanctuary Manager, Leonnie Martin: “We have had such a tough year and our supporters have been amazing at helping us to get through it. The wonderful gifts we have received from the Santa-Trek delivery will make a real difference and save the charity lots of money. Thank you so much to Equi-Trek, all of the supporting companies and to our supporters for nominating us!”
Said Tom Janion, Managing Director of Equi-Trek: “We really wanted to give something back to the equine world this year by supporting a charity at Christmas. We are delighted that all of the gifts will be put to good use by Hope Pastures, they do a fantastic job. A big thank you to the generous companies that supported Sant-Trek.”
