Hiho Silver’s range of shooting jewellery has increased to include a collection based around 12 bore and 20 shotgun cartridges…but not as you know them!
The company has used the dimensions of standard 12 and 20 bore cartridges and created two stunning designs based on these. All pieces are made using solid sterling silver and benefit from 18ct rose gold plated detail and other creative touches to add those authentic details that Hiho pieces are so well known for.
“We’ve been working on cartridge pieces for a while, but wanted to launch something special,” said Emma Warren from Hiho Silver. “We feel the rose gold plating, as well as the engraving, really does this.
“We launched the Country Shooting Collection a little while ago, inspired by National Ladies Shooting Day, and we’ve been developing it since. Hiho is a sponsor of National Ladies Shooting Day, and I’m a member of the Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club, as well as the King of the Road and his family shooting - so we as a company are loving being able to learn more about what jewellery people like. Our shotgun and pheasant pieces have been real hits, and we’re now in the position to offer more with lady guns in mind.”
There are currently six pieces in the collection, based on two designs. The Exclusive Sterling Silver And 18ct Rose Gold Plated 20 Bore Cartridge Slider (a Hiho creation that slides onto a leather bracelet) is available on a single leather strap or on a double leather strap, and the same cartridge design has been made into a 18mm pendant which is supplied on a 16” snake chain. The Exclusive Sterling Silver And 18ct Rose Gold Plated 12 Bore Cartridge Slider is also available on a single and double leather strap, and has also been designed as a 21mm pendant on a 16” snake chain.
“We decided to launch the two sizes as we understand the relationship that people have with their guns,” said Emma. “For me, like many ladies, transitioning from a 20 bore to a 12 bore was a really big thing. So both the 12 and 20 bore designs were important to do - as people have a real allegiance to the type of gun they shoot, and I knew, from my experience, that you get very attached to the type of gun you shoot.”
Prices for the cartridge pieces start at £65 for the pendant and go up to £85.
