RACING LEGEND SIR AP MCCOY GEARS UP THE YOUNGER GENERATION OF SHETLAND PONY JOCKEYS
Ahead of Olympia, The London International Horse Show, which opens its doors on 17-23 December, retired racing legends Sir AP McCoy OBE and Bob Champion MBE headed to Ascot Racecourse to give some of the stars of the Osborne Refrigerators Shetland Pony Grand National their top tips ahead of competing at the Show. This short highlights film documents a training session which involves jockeys under the age of 14 racing down the Ascot home straight, aboard their fast and furious Shetland Ponies.
Sir AP McCoy will feature as part of 'Race Night' on Friday 21 December at Olympia where he will be competing in the Markel Champions Challenge, in aid of The Injured Jockeys Fund. The Challenge sees two teams of jockeys go head to head in a relay Show Jumping competition, this year 'McCoy's Boys' will take on Bridget Andrews and her team of top female jockeys, in the first-ever 'Girls vs Boys' competition.
