The annual International Eventing Forum (IEF) at Hartpury College is now an essential date in the diary for Professional and Amateur riders at all levels. The 2014 forum on Monday 3rd February will see the IEF join forces with British Eventing under the banner “Raise your Game”, to offer an even deeper learning experience and ensuring that this is once again an unmissable day for anyone planning to compete in 2014.
The speakers for the 2014 forum between them have many, many thousands of days of experience of top class competition and training at the very highest level. 5 star dressage judges Isobel Vessels and Andrew Gardner will start the day off and their demonstration will be sure to help riders of all levels gain maximum marks in the dressage arena. Andrew is a 5-star International Dressage Judge for Great Britain and has this year judged the World Cup Final in Gothenburg and the European Championships in Denmark. Isobel has been involved with riding, training and judging dressage for more than 30 years and has trained some 8 horses to Grand Prix level. Co-founder of the IEF, Eric Smiley (FBHS), is a world renowned coach, producer of young horses and international competitor and joins the speaker list once again to discuss the essential training of young horses for long term competitive success.
The afternoon’s jumping sessions will see FEI International Jumping Course Designer – Tom Holden - build a course which attendees will have the opportunity to walk and discuss and Tom will available for questions from the gallery about all aspects of course design. The final session of the day will see Commandant John Ledingham - Ireland’s "legendary" International Rider and Coach, take centre stage and work with the demo riders and their horses to show attendees how to train for and perfect successful competition show jumping.
In a new addition to the format for 2014, two optional ‘breakout’ group classroom sessions with Liam Moggan will allow attendees the option to air their views and ask questions in a more personal setting. Liam is involved in planning and delivering the Tutor Development Programme within the Irish Sports Council will provide invaluable insights into the development of successful training methods for all equestrian disciplines.
