Abbey England Supports Saddlery Trade with New Specialised Tools
Continuing to support the saddlery trade with the production of specialised tools, Abbey England has listened to its customers and is supporting the saddlery industry with the introduction of two highly demanded tools.
Made by Abbey’s manufacturing division, the team has produced traditional saddler’s pincers and two types of brass smashers.
The new saddler’s pincers are made from the original pattern and are cast in Walsall from iron. The new pincers feature perfect ergonomic handles finished with a quality resin coating. The knuckle fits perfectly to the rail of any tree and the bulldog teeth will grip any material, hide or canvas with ease.
Said Craig Evans, of Abbey England, a former saddler, “We are so pleased with the quality of our new pincers that we are offering a five year guarantee with every new purchase.”
Abbey has also introduced a new solid brass smasher which is also manufactured at the Walsall foundry where each individual hand tool is carefully made, calling upon over 150 years of craftsmanship and tool making.
The smasher is available in two weights, 895 grams and 540 grams, to give the very best weight distribution to outperform similar smashers. The smasher fits well into the hands and offers comfort and functionality for the task ahead.
This tool is essential for any working saddler and is designed to assist with re-flocking and regulating of the flock to the new panel as well as smoothing out the pommel and back cantle leather work.
Abbey is also offering a five year guarantee on all new purchases of Abbey smashers against any fair wear.
