Little Downham Horse Trials To Donate Start Fees To Charity
Little Downham Horse Trials, located just outside of Ely in Cambridgeshire, previously announced a £5,000 charity donation to the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the event can now confirm that this is being raised to over £7,000.
All of Saturday’s and Sunday’s start fees will be donated to the charity, in addition to any further fund raised from donations across the three days of competition.
Tina Ure, organiser and land owner, commented, “within the equestrian community, we are all aware and very grateful for the service provided by the East Anglian Air Ambulance which is a privately funded charitable organisation. The service they provide to support and assist the county ambulance service especially in rural communities is invaluable, and whilst we hope that they will not need to attend this weekend in an active role, I greatly appreciate the care and attention provided in previous years.”
Leading British event rider Francis Whittington added, “It is wonderful that a sport can come together to support a service that is so vitally important to those of us within the sport and those in the wider community.”
A presentation will be made to representatives of the East Anglian Air Ambulance at the Advanced prize giving, at approximately 4PM on Friday 2nd June.
Little Downham welcomes international stars and Olympians to the Fens this weekend including Advanced winners Izzy Taylor (GBR) and Ludwig Svennestal (SWE), Francis Whittington (GBR), Caroline Powell (NZL), Rebecca Howard (CAN, Lauren Keiffer (USA) and Camilla Krugar (ZIM)
Little Downham Horse Trials is free to attend for all spectators, with charity donations gratefully received upon entry.
