The range of helmets from Samshield is inspired by premium motorcycle helmet technology and made from high performance materials to offer the best protection and comfort to the horse rider.

The outer shell is made of high quality polycarbonate which is used for high-end motorcycle helmets, demonstrating its great effectiveness as a protective material..
Polystyrene forms the inner shell which creates variable density and provides better dispersion of the energy produced on impact. In addition, the semi-rigid chin-strap which is lined with leather and has rigid foam inside, cancels out all risks of tipping the helmet forward in the case of violent movement, for example in a fall, and helps to secure the helmet from rotation.
The inner liner is made from ‘memory’ foam to ensure a constant thickness, regardless of continued use, ensuring the hat stays comfortable and well-fitting for years. This foam is also removable with a durable, strong clip system, meaning that is can be washed regularly to keep the hat clean and fragrant.
The inner shell has been designed to create a superior fit and unrivalled comfort. Three shell sizes are available; M, L or XL. Each shell size can accommodate five to six inner foams of different sizes in order to perfectly match the hat to the individual rider. This ingenious system also allows the hat to grow with the young rider, removing the necessity to continually replace hats for a growing head.
Samshield helmets provide brilliant ventilation through the front air inlet under the visor, allowing fresh air to flow into the front of the hat and out of back extractors, around breathable, comfort foam, which prevents sweating. The helmets have an elegant appearance, with no unsightly air vents, yet still retain technicality and comfort.
All helmets are customizable and have VG1 01.040 2014-12 and ASTM SEI standard which is accepted by The Pony Club from 1st January 2016.
