Major stars of the eventing world are set to head to this year’s Osberton International Horse Trials. Held for this year only at Thoresby Park, October 7 to 11, just six miles down the road from the Osberton Estate, the event has a packed timetable of top class competition over the five days.
Eventing royalty Zara Tindall will be making her way to the Nottinghamshire venue alongside a stellar line-up of riders including William Fox-Pitt, Harry Meade, Piggy March, Emily King, Ros Canter and Nicola Wilson.
This year’s autumn three-day event will also see the British Eventing Young Horse Championships for six and seven-year-old horses taking on the international stage in order to be crowned the National Champions.
International event rider Nicola Wilson said: “It is great to be heading to Osberton in what has been, to say the least, an unusual year. It will be interesting competing at Thoresby Park as it is a new venue and one we were looking forward to competing at in March this year until it had to be cancelled.
“The BEDE team always put on a great event and well done to them for doing everything they can to run Osberton International, which is well known as an end of season celebration with a brilliant atmosphere.
“We are very grateful to the team for doing everything they can to put on this event at Thoresby, providing our young horses with the valuable education, experience and qualification they need and for our supportive owners it’s a lovely way to end, what has been a challenging year all round.”
Added Stuart Buntine of BEDE: “We are delighted that so many of the top names from the sport are supporting the event. The team at Thoresby Park have been incredibly pro-active and forward thinking and we are set for a great few days eventing to round off the season.”
Running alongside the young horse championships will be prestigious CCI2* long format and CCI3* long format sections.
