THIS year’s TopSpec Open M&M Working Hunter Pony classes at the NPS Summer Championships were well supported with some fantastic performances.
Leading the way in the 122cm section was Eleanor Simmonds with Birchwood Drover while Rosie Williams and Gaoth captured the 133cm class before going on to stand Reserve Champion.
The Welsh Section D, Burghwallis Paprika ridden by Katherine Bowling-Hartenfeld headed the line-up in the 143cm section before taking the prestigious TopSpec Open M&M Championship.
The exceeding 143cm section went to Ross Keys and Dycott Welsh King after an excellent round.
Said Katherine: “I have owned Paprika now seven since he was four, he is a great character and is always so enthusiastic which the judges seem to like.
“This is his first season in open classes and he qualified for the Royal International Horse Show and has just missed out on his HOYS ticket so far.”
Based in Lancashire, Katherine runs a busy riding school and livery yard, enjoying the competing as her hobby.
“The NPS Summer Championships is a great show and I couldn’t have been more pleased with our results throughout the event, he was fantastic,” she added.
TopSpec also sponsored The NPS Style and Performance classes with Ella Stanford and Tynwydd Good Friday securing the championship from Georgie Toole with Kissemmie Midnight Magic.
