The Westphalian Studbook enjoyed a hugely successful week as proud sponsors of the International 6 year old class at Dressage at Hickstead (30th July – 3rd August). The world renowned equestrian event was the perfect opportunity to showcase all the studbook has to offer to potential UK and International customers.
The highlight of the weekend was Saturday’s International 6 year old class sponsored by the studbook. A field of top riders and talented young horses contested the 1st place with Tom Goode and his ride Dior III taking top spot with an incredible 83.80%, one of the highest scores of the show. “I am overjoyed at Dior winning the International 6 year old championships at Hickstead. It’s such an honour to ride such an incredibly talented superstar and I am so grateful to Emile Faurie and owner Sam Geddes for giving me this opportunity.” Tom is stable rider for Emile at his Oxfordshire base. Owner Sam Geddes of Kent was simply overjoyed and said “I am so pleased for the whole team at Heath Farm who care for Dior so well, especially Emile’s careful attention to detail in his training of the horses and of course Tom as such a fabulous and exciting rider for the future.”
Rhegan White, Director of Sales & Marketing for USA, Canada & UK congratulated the pair on their fantastic achievements
“I am over the moon for Emile, Tom and of course owner Sam Geddes. Emile is very dear friend of mine for 18 years and I know he and Tom have worked with this stallion from scratch to produce the incredible horse he is today.”
Leonie Finckenstein, Head of Marketing, along with Rhegan White, presented the class winners with their prizes. “I was very proud to present the winners rug to such an incredible partnership on behalf of the Westphalian Studbook. Saturday’s class was the icing on the cake to a fantastic week here at Hickstead and it has been a joy to come and be a part of such a historic show.”
The Westphalian brand could be seen on many of the leading competitors, including Grand Prix winner Fine Time 13, ridden by Carl Hester.
“The quality of these successful horses simply confirms the fact that there are quality, trainable horses available in Westphalia” says Leonie, “I hope the UK market are enthused to come and visit us to find their perfect dressage partners.”
