Are you a competent and adventurous rider who enjoys riding adventures across glorious terrain? Do you have a competitive edge? If so, we would like to share news of an exciting new equestrian challenge being planned to take place on Dartmoor in September 2016
It is terrifically useful for us to know how much interest there might be in such an adventure, to share developments with you and perhaps garner opinions on the event’s proposed structure.

EXPERIENCED RIDER? ENJOY THRILLING SCENERY?
A THRILLING NEW RIDING CHALLENGE AWAITS
THE DARTMOOR DERBY
- A five-day challenge over 200km (125 miles)
- OR shorter 3-day 100km ride
- Places limited to 100 riders,
- Each day concludes at a specially constructed Horse Station with camping and catering on site
- Each night to be spent under canvas – tents & beds provided with field kitchen catering round camp fire
- Hotel option for those preferring not to camp each night
Imagine riding and navigating 100km or more across 3-5 days, across wide open spaces, under big skies through wooded valleys, and past stone circles with golden gorse and purple heather.
Imagine seeing the world at your feet, the sea beyond, and all framed to perfection, between a horse’s pricked ears.
Each day’s ride concludes in a specially constructed competitor camp, where luxury tents, beds, superb food and plentiful hot water awaits you and your four-legged team mates. Alternatively, hotel accommodation is available for those who prefer it.
This is the vision behind a spectacular new equestrian challenge being planned for 2016, The Dartmoor Derby. Places will be limited to 100 riders
