2018 Randox Health Grand National Festival
From JockeyCam to Ladies Day, plus the Aintree Sale - it was a week of many hats for team EP
Equine Productions was back at Aintree racecourse for the biggest event in the racing calendar, The 2018 Randox Health Grand National. This is a place that holds magical memories for the team since Many Clouds won in 2015 with Leighton Aspell wearing the then new-on-the-scene JockeyCam.
This year, the team provided JockeyCam live for broadcast on ITV Racing. This offered audiences a foot-in-the-stirrup experience in the tactical decision-making process jockeys are faced with during the race.
The EP team also filmed a highlights feature for the glamorous side of Aintree festival on Ladies Day where racegoers dressed up for the style stakes whilst watching the racing action.
The Goffs Aintree Sale is a boutique sale of horses after racing at Aintree's Randox Health Grand National Festival - an event where the who's who of racing are bound to be. Here, the team filmed a promotional review film as well as providing live stream footage throughout the sale. It was a pleasure for the team to work with renowned presenter Mike Cattermole again.
In the lead up to the Grand National Festival, the team headed to Doncaster to provide live stream footage for the Breeze Up sale, both from the racecourse and in the ring, whilst also shooting a review film. The Doncaster Goffs Breeze Up Sale is the place to find the next generation of racehorse stars, who in the short term aim towards Royal Ascot in June. The 2-year-olds gallop a short distance and their performance is timed to assess their potential on track.
As well as streaming the Breeze live online without a hitch, a replay of every lot's breeze was viewable within seconds online. EP wish all connections involved the best with both sales for the rest of the season.
