World leaders when it comes to equestrian sporting equipment and protection, Veredus, developed the Magnetik Line, a range of products that use magnetic therapy. But what is magnetic therapy?

Magnetotherapy is a medical method used for helping certain conditions and has long been used on humans and animals. It works by creating a magnetic field, by means of permanently magnetized multi-pole neodymium plates, which helps restore biological energy by slowing down the physiological degeneration of tissues.

Magnetic therapy stimulates vasodilation which increases the flow of blood to the area. It also speeds up the elimination of dead cells and toxins, while decontracting the muscles and in turn reducing pain and swelling. Static magnetic energy also stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, which are essential elements for helping to rebuilding tissues.

In simple terms the magnets bring about the increase in cellular activity which in turn increases the rate at which the body’s cells regenerate and repair.

Not only used as part of recovery and rehabilitation management regimes, magnetic therapy has become very popular with riders as preparation for work and training. As technology has advanced over the years newer materials and smaller, stronger magnets have allowed products to be much more efficient and well fitting for the horse.

Most importantly magnetic therapy can provide a non-invasive, no doping method to help horses perform at their best. They are relatively low cost and are easy to use in any horse management regime which is why they are a popular choice.

The Magnetik Line includes a range of different horse boots and a Magentik Rug which is equipped with 32 neodymium magnets that develop a power of 2400 Gauss each. The magnets are distributed in the lumbo-dorsal fasciae, lats and shoulders.

The Magnetik boots are made with the breathable ‘Aerox’ material and are lined and trimmed with lycra to guarantee the optimum temperature of the leg and reducing overheating of the tendon system.

The boot range also includes front and rear Magentik Four Hour boots which contain 40 neodymium magnets that develop a power of 2400 Gauss each, which is distributed at the flexor and extensor tendons, fetlock and bulbs.
