Trilanco made it a treble in more ways than one at this year’s BETA Business Awards. Not only did the company win Black Solicitors Trade Supplier of the Year for the third time, it was also the first awards that Jessica Balmer, daughter of directors Martin and Lisa, and granddaughter of director Derek (Balmer), attended due to her recent appointment within the company.
“To say we’re pleased to win again this year is an understatement,” says Martin Balmer, Managing Director of Trilanco. “We’ve continued to improve and develop what we do to ensure that the service we offer is second to none, and receiving this kind of recognition makes us feel we’re going in the right direction and leading the way. It was very touching to receive congratulations from other people within the industry; all the people that gave me a pat on the back and congratulated me were very sincere. What makes it extra special is that my daughter, Jessica, has recently joined the company as Brand Manager and attended her first BETA Business Awards with us, so it was quite a moment to win and collect the prize with her. There are now three generations of my family working at Trilanco, so it’s so much more than just a company to me.
“This is set to be a big year for us. In addition to increasing our workforce, we’re also in the process of relocating to a new seven million pound purpose built facility six miles away from our current location. We’re very excited about where we are with our business now, but our new development allows us to become bigger and better…so watch this space!”
The Black Solicitors Trade Supplier of the Year Award is awarded to the manufacturer, wholesaler or distributor who provides the best service, product knowledge and awareness of retailers’ requirements. The shortlisted companies are then judged by a panel before retailer members vote. The final judging is overseen by an independent panel.
