Up to £50,000 to go to equine charity for each SEIB policy taken out this Summer
SEIB Insurance Brokers are proud to launch a pilot scheme giving customers the chance to donate £25 to one of three leading equine charities when taking out, or renewing, a horse insurance policy this summer.
Customers can choose between The British Horse Society, The Horse Trust and World Horse Welfare to receive the money.
SEIB expect to raise up to £50,000 through the pilot scheme, which will run for three months from 3rd July through to 30th September this year.
Head of Marketing at SEIB, Katie Oswald said: “Insuring your horse through SEIB means so much more than getting the right policy. All our available profits go to charity and through this pilot scheme customers have the opportunity to support horses and equine welfare when they renew, or take out a new policy. We’re delighted to be supporting these three fantastic charities and giving back to the communities we support”.
SEIB are proudly part of the Benefact Group, a family of financial services businesses with a united purpose to contribute to the greater good of society, which is providing the funds for the scheme.
Chief Executive of World Horse Welfare, Roly Owers said: “We are enormously grateful to SEIB and Benefact Group for choosing World Horse Welfare as one of the charities to benefit from this new philanthropic initiative. Our charity has been able to help so many horses in the UK and internationally over the years because of the generosity shown by the Group through our insurance partner SEIB and their clients. As we approach our 100th anniversary, we reflect on all the horses in need, as well as the sport and leisure horses and horses used in work and production, whose lives have been improved thanks to donations like these and we hope to reach many more horses thanks to this pilot project.”
Duncan Snook, Director of Finance at The British Horse Society said “We’re delighted to have been chosen as one of the selected charities for the donations pilot scheme and we’re very grateful to SEIB and Benefact Group. All the donations that we receive will go directly to our important charitable work across welfare, safety, access, participation and education. Without support like this, we wouldn’t be able to continue to do all that we do, to support horses and their owners.”
Jeanette Allen, CEO of The Horse Trust said “We are incredibly grateful to SEIB and Benefact Group for choosing The Horse Trust to be part of this wonderful pilot program. For over 137 years our charity has specialised in giving a loving final home to retired service horses and a place of sanctuary to equines who have suffered severe cruelty or neglect. Our work has continued to grow, and today we also provide educational training services for frontline equine professionals and fund non-invasive veterinary research that has contributed to major advances in the treatment and care of all equines. Every donation we receive will help us continue to drive our charitable work and improve the wellbeing of horses worldwide.”
It’s straightforward for SEIB customers to take part in the pilot scheme. Once a new horse insurance policy, or renewal has been taken out, each customer will receive an email thanking them for their purchase which will include an invitation, and a link, to vote for the charity of their choice on a web page. Once it finishes, customers will be told how much the charity they chose received in the scheme.
It is not just the equestrian world that is supported by SEIB and the Benefact Group. They have donated over £250,000 to good causes over the past five years through their annual SEIB Giving Awards. This summer’s awards will see a further £60,600 go to good causes from across Britain as SEIB celebrates its’ 60th year in business.
There are lots of ways for people to get involved in charitable giving through SEIB and The Benefact Group. Each year, the Benefact Group run their Movement for Good Awards, which is their annual programme for giving. This year, they’ll be giving over £1million to charities and good causes. You can nominate a registered charity, not-for-profit organisation or community interest company in the UK, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands or Isle of Man for a £1,000 award on the Movement for Good website.
