Valegro the world’s number one dressage horse that holds Olympic, European and World Cup titles has launched his own gold medal range of merchandise.

Such is the popularity of this British super horse, that the owners, including Carl Hester, Team GB Olympic Gold medal winner, have created a Valegro brand. The first items, being produced under licence are set to hit retailers this summer. T shirts and shampoo’s, horse rugs and books, all portray the Valegro gold medal hallmark. Further plans for a set of children’s books based around his adventures at home and travels abroad and an animated series are also underway.

The horse is possibly also the first living equine to employ his own publicist. With over 84,000 fans on Facebook, huge sacks of mail sent to his stable yard and the world’s media requesting information about this “Blueberry” coloured champion, Valegro is being hailed as the next Black Beauty.

At only 13 years old, Valegro, who is affectionately nicknamed Blueberry due to an unusual blue tint to his coat has achieved more than any other [British] dressage horse in the world. His owners are aiming him at the Rio Olympics next year where he is expected to win Gold for Team GB.

With the European Championships being held this August in Germany and his biography, “Valegro: Champion Horse”, with a forward by Zara Phillips published in September the future for this special horse looks rather busy.

His trainer and co-owner Carl Hester commented,

“Valegro is the most amazing horse that the UK has ever produced. His life is almost a fairy tale which is why he has a special place in so many hearts. We want to let fans worldwide be part of his journey and celebrate what he has done for the sport of dressage. He gives so much pleasure and we want to immortalise him for generations to remember.”
