Worldwide phenomenon Valegro is set to return to your screen on Horse & Country in an exclusive film ‘Valegro: Sculpting the Legend.
This enlightening documentary premieres on Tuesday 17th September at 8pm and provides a fascinating insight into the horse that had brought so much global awareness to the sport of dressage.
In an unprecedented career, Valegro won three Olympic Golds, World and European Gold and a World No 1 ranking - leaving a trail of broken World Records in his wake.
The people of Newent, Valegro's home town, decided to honour Valegro with a bronze statue to stand in their town centre.
With funds raised they have commissioned equine sculptor, Georgie Welch, to produce 12 bronze miniatures to be sold and one raffled, raising money for the half life-size bronze that will stand in the centre of Newent.
‘Valegro: Sculpting the Legend’ is a film about the making of these bronzes, with Georgie taking viewers through the various processes to make the miniatures.
The film also features exclusive interviews with Carl Hester, Charlotte Dujardin and of course Valegro himself.
Valegro revolutionized a centuries-old sport and won the hearts of equestrian and sports fans everywhere – the bronze statue will capture Valegro’s unique character and intelligence.
